I can see the level meter moving, indicating that it is playing sound, but there is nothing to be heard. I can control all of the settings using FN keys, control panel, and task bar, but alas, still no sound from either Hoping for the best, I pulled up the audio driver listed for Windows 8.1, the IDT Audio one. So, then I went to the HP website, and looked up drivers for this laptop, and found that the audio driver is not listed for Windows 10. I can "adjust the volume" from either the control panel, taskīar, or by using the designated FN keys, but no sound comes out.Īlso, no alerts under the Device Manager. Using the drivers that Windows installed, "Speakers (High Definition Audio) version 0.16384", yields no sound out of the laptop speakers, nor any sound coming out of the headphone jack. ![]() HP ProBook 4540s running Windows 10 Enterprise. I certainly don't want to hijack this thread, but I am experiencing the same issues that Masuk described.
